I’m not a conservative voter. But I found a soft spot for James during the abive election. My husband (who has since died) was supporting the Labour candidate at the time and we had a housedul of supporters on voting day. I saw James get out of his car, look at all the bunting on our house and rapidly disappearing back into his car. I laughed, thinking it was quite the thing to do at that moment! 

I have just heard his wife on Sunday morning radio and it triggered this memory. I have heard him talk several times on tv/radio and found him very easy to listen to (unlike the oafs in charge at the moment)! He was a very likeable individual and I was very sorry at his loss.
