I only met James for a couple of hours when he came to find out more about a project I was leading. However, I was really struck by James; he was clearly very clever and knowledgeable and was able to provide very thoughtful insights and advise, however he was also warm and engaging and seemed genuinely interested. It was a privilege to meet him. His sad passing is a great loss. My thoughts go to his family and friends
