Story

.James was a passionate advocate for this. In 2017, he became the first MP to hold a debate on lung cancer in the House of Commons. Without his dedication, bravery and determination, lung cancer wouldn’t be getting the attention it deserves – and it’s likely that today’s breakthrough recommendation would still be some way off. Cathy Brokenshire welcomes today’s announcement. She said: ‘’This is the beginning of what looks to be a brighter future for lung cancer, but we are not finished just yet. Screening will save many lives, and spare families the anguish that we have known. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation will continue its vital work, raising awareness and campaigning for better outcomes for those with lung cancer.’’
