I met James in his role as Secretary of State for MHCLG as a civil servant working in the department. I found him to be a thoughtful and insightful person who truly listened to those he worked with, and who achieved a great deal in his time in that role. I very much enjoyed working with him, and was deeply saddened by his passing, and for your loss.
